Sex Trafficking is a business made up of supply (victims), demand (buyers), and distributors (traffickers). Human Sex Trafficking nets billions of dollars worldwide and is the second largest criminal industry in the world and the fastest growing. It is modern day slavery in which children (under the age of 18), women, and men are bought and sold for sexual or labor purposes.
In the United States, children are the largest group trafficked for sex. Many of these children still attend school, even if intermittently. As educators, we are on the front lines to mitigate this atrocity by being knowledgeable of the risk factors of our youth, intervening, and reporting suspected victims to the proper agencies.? ?This webinar is designed to provide educators with awareness, and strategies for mitigation and prevention of domestic human sex trafficking in our schools and in our community.
