Social Studies Supervisors and Teachers - Are you looking for meaningful ways to bring the presidential election to life in social studies classrooms? This webinar will provide a framework for students to discuss controversial issues, connect national events to their daily lives, and ultimately engage in the civic process. Participants will learn about digital resources that support civic instruction in their districts and classrooms.
Presenter
Dan Byerly is the Director of Social Studies Instruction at Discovery Education and the lead author of the award-winning Social Studies Techbook series. Dan taught high school Social Studies, including U.S. History and Geography, and later served as a middle school instructional coach. He was a K-12 Social Studies supervisor and preK-12 curriculum director in Washington, D.C.
