Teachers will learn three teaching practical strategies for helping them help their student achieve common core strategies in reading and writing. In order to keep our learning and sharing continual, participants will be invited to join an NCSS discussion site at the Literacy in Learning Exchange (there is no cost for this).

We will cover:

• A quick overview of Common Core Standards for Social Studies teachers;
• The Mystery Strategy;
• The Reading for Meaning Strategy; and
• The Mind's Eye  Strategy.

Instructor: Michael M. Yell, former NCSS president and National Board Certified middle school social studies teacher.
