This webinar will introduce participants to theory, research, and practice related to developing curriculum and instructional practices that respond to the social context in which they(will) work. The webinar will cover principles and approaches to building a professional identity as a cultural responsive educator. Focus will be on how new and pre-service teachers can develop meaningful relationships with students, how they can learn from and about the school and local community of the school, and how new and pre-service teachers can develop and implement culturally responsive classroom management while modeling expectations for students that maximize their capacity. Additionally, the webinar will assist students in learning about and developing culturally responsive curriculum and pedagogy in their different content/subject matter areas of interest.
